RE: Fueling up at Flying J

Just finished a quick 2200 mile round trip from FL to NJ and back and we found that FJ was conpetitive in all states with their fuel prices. We also stopped at a Pilot fuel center and they were friendly and conpetitive also.

Country Coach Owner Conversation

Had an interesting conversation with a CC Magna owner in NJ Monday. They had bought a new CC Magna (built while National owned them) and had so many problems they were able to get it "Lemon Lawed" and state the replacement is not much better. Their first hand advice was to stay away from the CC motor homes that were built durning the National ownership years. Thisis just one owners experience.

RE: 7 thousand dollar brake repair. Be careful when you buy.

NHTSA and do a recall check and file a complaint. I think there was a recall on your brakes several years ago which may have not been done on your motorhome. Send your problem to mcctech@monaco.com with your coach SN and model to get them in the loop. I would also consider filing a compliant against the dealer through the division of motor vehicles of the state you purchased the motorhome as they may have to meet minimum safety requirements even for something sold "as is". They also made a serious misrepresentation when they stated the brakes were "fixed" by verbal statement. Join Beaver Ambassador Club the owners group.

RE: Update - Rideheight Valve Failure

We had a push in O ring sealed distribution manifold leak down on our Beaver's front air ride and replaced it with compression fittings made into a manifold after finishing the trip. The air bag suspension would operate normally as the engine air compressor kept up with the leak. We drove about 900 miles and 4 nights with no problem. You leak down may be similar and though not perfect your coach should be very drivable.

RE: Best way to park MH during hurricane?

Went through Hurricane Charlie facing into the wind. If you can drive inland towards the East Coast is your best bet. On the leeward side of an aid deflector like an overpass seems to make a big difference. Several RV's here in Arcadia blew over when subjected to side winds.

RE: Fort Wilderness dog policy outrageous!!

We stay there 4 to 6 times a year with a dog and they always have had a pet site. Last time they put us on a non pet site and I went back and told them we have a dog (one I hope passes on soon as we inherited it) and they had a site a manager had to release to put us in the pet area as they seem to keep a few extra pet sites available. Good luck

RE: Inverter - ok to use Golf Cart Batts?

Most inverters are designed to operate on 12 volts. You may want to recheck to be sure. I doubt if you have 3 eight volt batteries wired to produce 24 volts to your inverter as that would be very unusual.

RE: Magnum Chassis Airbag Problem

Sounds like the ride height adjustment valve may be stuck open. The middle of your front axle has a vertical rod through a rubber sleeve and clamp (adjustment) and the top is attached to the valve behind the axle. That is where I would check first to see if the rod was pushed downward. There will not be much clerance as you will be crawling under a cross member.

RE: magnum chasis schematic

Sarfai Owners Club you might try to contact them as they have a lot of experience. Matt Perlot copied used the older Beaver wiring schematics when he started Safari but they did not use the 3060 transmissions and he was very private about sharing them. I would also try the Monaco service link from the above web site with your coach SN and year and they may have something.

RE: Washer\Dryer testimonials

We have a ventless Splindie and would prefer the stacked as it takes several hours to do a small load with the ventless. Drying is less than ideal. You also can not dry one load while washing another. Vented is the mim and stacked is ideal between the two choices.

RE: Rhino Liner the roof?

As a fellow Beaver owner am wondering why? You have a one piece laid up roof now. You would be decreasing your net carrying capacity and still have to maintain your seam seals. It would also make it harder to keep clean as I have it in the bed of my pick up and it is tougher to clean and keep clean than a smooth surface.

RE: Disney Dining Plan - Is it Worth the $$

We spent $300 on one meal for two so it seems like a deal. But it was our anniversary and we had the 8 course French meal at France with 6 wines. It is not on the dining plan but if you can eat for $10 per person per meal at Disney it is reasonable. We usually eat supper and breakfast at the RV so it is not a good deal for us.

RE: Dehumidifier for Classd A

We have used a dehumidifier for over 15 years here in humid FL and find that one you can handle is best as you will be taking it in and out of the coach. We got Sears smallest and it works great in our 40 ft MH. It is less than 400 square feet.

RE: SAMS CLUB GAS

I spoke at length to an ex employee of a Texas refinery that "cracked" gas for several brands to their specifications. Seems they made their best fuel for Hess. Local Shell distributor sells Hess Diesel because it is the best they have found and yes they sell it under the Shell name. Fuel is only as good as the fuel retailer wants it to be. Just like pumping different octane from one hose at a station it does vary in quality by manufacturer or brand.

RE: One roof-top plumbing vent, two holding tanks

We have one vent on the roof and both tanks work so do not worry about it. No odor in the MH and both tanks drain properly. If I ever replace the grey tank valve I will replace the plumbing drain with 3 inch valve to speed up the drain process.

RE: SAMS CLUB GAS

My son has a client that works for the state of FL as an inspector and the Murphy stations that are at the Sams locations sell the poorest quality fuels in his area. It still meets state requirements however but has more particulates so you may have a shorter fuel filter life. You will also find a lot of stations are going to 10% ethanol in their gas.

RE: sewer smell HELP

Driving causes a negative pressure inside the MH be sure roof vents close to the vent pipe on the roof are closed as the vent gases are being sucked into the MH as a starter. A few gallons of water with a good chemical such as Odorgone in both holding tanks can also help. Also be sure to leave a couple cups of water in the toilet to help its seal. We changed to one of the directional vents for the vent pipe also that raises the exit point of the gases that may help also. The smell can also come in from the side of the MH if a window is open while driving.
